From Melbourne to Darwin

Andrew Cannon AM has arrived in Darwin today after travelling over 4000km from Melbourne in a vintage 1924 Vauxhall.

We are so grateful that Andrew has chosen to support the Cathy Freeman Foundation in an effort to raise much-needed funds. It is no easy feat driving in a roofless, vintage car in extremely hot weather conditions, especially as Andrew has endured over the last few days.

From Alice Springs to Tenant Creek, from Daly Waters to Katherine and now finally in Darwin, Andrew is enjoying the drive and the car is receiving a lot of attention along the way!

"It's amazing to see the impact of the Cathy Freeman Foundation with lots of people asking questions and making generous donations," says Andrew.

As Andrew continues on his epic Outback drive down the east coast of Australia, it will be the longest distance anyone has ever travelled across Australia in a car of this vintage. Now that is a milestone!

By making a donation to the Cathy Freeman Foundation, you too can join Andrew in the car and be part of Australian history. This once in a lifetime opportunity is open to anyone who makes a minimum donation of $1500. No matter how big or small, every donation makes a difference and will go towards continuing our life-changing education programs in remote communities across Australia.

If you are interested in joining Andrew on this epic journey, please contact us on 03 9686 4813 or alternatively you can make a donation here.
