Destination: Palm Island

It is not every day that someone decides to drive through the Australian Outback in a vintage 1920s Vauxhaull but our Founding Chair, Andrew Cannon AM, is doing exactly that with the aim of raising awareness and much-needed funds for the Cathy Freeman Foundation.

The energetic Knight of the Order of Grimaldi is currently in Townsville and will have covered approximately 6000km of his 10,000km journey as he makes his way to Palm Island tomorrow to help celebrate the Foundation's 10 year anniversary. Accompanying Andrew on this very significant part of his Outback drive is 'co-pilot' and Co-Founder of the Foundation, Cathy Freeman.

As well as celebrating 10 years of partnership with the Palm Island community, Cathy and Andrew will attend the Cathy Freeman Foundation Starting Block Awards, which recognise and celebrate student achievement throughout the school term.

By making a donation to the Cathy Freeman Foundation, you too can join Andrew in the Vauxhall as he makes his way down the east coast of Australia. This once in a lifetime opportunity is open to anyone who makes a minimum donation of $1500. No matter how big or small, every donation makes a difference and will go towards continuing our life-changing education programs in some of the largest and most remote communities across Australia.

If you are interested in joining Andrew on this epic journey, please contact us on 03 9686 4813 or alternatively you can make a donation here .
